Come on in

A HOME YOU CAN RUN YOURSELF

Host your own myblogs.

Run the website on your own domain, with your own accounts and content storage. Connect it to the same community to see the same published profiles and blogs, or configure a separate registry for a different community.

Hosting your own myblogs isn’t open yet. For now the community runs on myblogs.co only; the installer and steps below are here for when it opens.

Four steps to your own host

  1. Prepare your VPS. Use Linux x86-64 with Python 3.9+, Docker Engine 28+ and Compose 2.20+. Point your domain to it and open HTTPS ports 80/443.
  2. Download, verify and unpack. Transfer the package and checksum to the VPS. It includes prebuilt images and instructions; there is no repository clone or source build.
  3. Open the browser wizard. Run sudo python3 setup.py --root /opt/myblogs-host --port 8787 inside the extracted package. Keep the terminal open. In a second terminal on your computer, open ssh -N -L 8787:127.0.0.1:8787 root@YOUR_VPS_IP then visit http://127.0.0.1:8787 and enter the temporary setup token.
  4. Choose your community and storage. Enter the community’s network/registry, your public wallet addresses, copying limits, and optional email/sponsor settings. Review the choices, install, and privately save the administrator tokens.

By default, the host copies your chosen wallets’ public content. You can accept requests from other writers, select more writers or copy community content within your budget. The host panel controls these choices after installation.

What stays yours?

Your VPS stores its own account database and IPFS files. You choose its domain, copying limits, request approvals and moderation. Your wallet still owns your profile and writing. Other hosts can keep additional copies through Content copies.

An empty registry allows accounts and local drafts while publishing setup is pending. Publishing needs a deployed registry and a funded writer or sponsor; Base Sepolia uses test ETH. Reading and wallet login do not require a network fee. Copying needs available sources and does not replace off-server backups.

Keep it running

Back up your account/content volumes and protected server configuration. To update, verify and extract a new package, then run its sudo python3 setup.py --root /opt/myblogs-host --update. It preserves configuration and volumes and restores the previous healthy release if startup fails. The package includes detailed install, update and backup instructions.
